The Phoenix is definitely a sport-style jacket with a low-cut comfortable collar, sleeves that are pre-curved to the riding position, CE-approved shoulder and elbow armor, a high-quality waterproof liner, and lots of bright, highly-visible colors. All these details have made the Phoenix the most popular mesh jacket of all time among sport and sport touring riders.
this is a very good motorcycle jacket for the price. There are some issues with the way it fits and you may need to try on a size or two smaller than you normally wear in order to find the right fit for your body, but overall, this is a good quality jacket that will provide you with the protection that you need while you are riding your bike during the summer months.
Since it started the trend nearly 10 years ago, Joe Rocket’s Phoenix mesh jacket has pretty much stayed in the game, and the next-generation Phoenix 5.0 continues that tradition.
My favorite aspect of this joe rocket jacket is the waterproof liner, and snap loops for attaching pants to the jacket. The last thing I want is my jacket flying all over the place when cruising over 100mph.
While the Phoenix 5.0 jacket still is among the leaders when it comes to air flow (as long as they don’t “improve” it by adding any more solid fabric surface area), and it’s still a relative bargain, it’s no longer my go-to jacket for hot weather.
One of the cool things about the Joe Rocket Phoenix 5.0 Vented Textile Jacket is that it comes in a range of colors, which can suit all of the different personalities riders may have. Standard combinations such as red and black, white and black, gray and black and pure black are matched with yellow, green, blue, orange and a two-toned silver combination.
