Gear Construction

The Merrell Men's Moab Ventilator Hiking Shoe is a no-nonsense hiker which is ideal for moderate hiking, those lovely summertime strolls through National Parks or just for casual wear. The shoe has a sturdy build and features ample amount of breathable materials which would allow your feet to breathe and avoid overheating on those long hikes on summer days. The shoe, in fact, works great in keeping your feet drier and cooler as compared to an average hiking shoe. The bellows tongue has been designed to keep out debris, thereby offering much more comfort and convenience.

The molded nylon arch of the shoe is perfect for those low arches while the contoured footbed or rather the organic odor control keeps unwanted odor at bay and keeps your feet feeling fresh. Air cushion in the heel enables most of the shock to be absorbed by the shoe instead of the joints. The shoe being slip resistant is great for people who plan on hiking or running in the rain.

The Merrell Men's Moab Ventilator Hiking Shoe not only efficiently combines durability and quality but also offer optimal comfort so you can hike all day long with nothing stopping you from conquering those terrains.

Upper

The upper body is a perfect combination of leather and a durable mesh. Dura leather/nylon strap with a lattice-like overlay is sewn to the lower body, a solid construction which keeps the foot secure when hiking on challenging terrains.

Midsole

Full-length, compression molded EVA midsole adds optimal cushioning and maximum comfort.

Outersole

Vibram multi-sport sole with TC5+ rubber for extra grip and durability. Molded nylon arch shank.

The lace-up closure system allows for a snug fit. There are 6 pairs eyelets in total, 4 are webbing while the 2 upper are plastic.

Toe cap and Heel Counter

The shoe has synthetic leather and rubber toe cap that safeguards your toes from potential injuries in case you do step on rocks and rough terrain. Air Cushion heel pockets offer additional shock-absorption under heels and thereby stabilize footstrike.

Insole/Footbed/Sock Liner

Removable 4.5mm footbeds have been anatomically shaped and enhanced cushioning for improved comfort.

Interiors (Lining)

Aegis antimicrobial solution is added to the lining to alleviate odor and keep you feeling fresh for longer.

Waterproofing

No. But, a waterproof version is available for those who would like protection from rain and wet conditions.
