Fit – Majority of the users were happy with the fit and commented that very little or no-break was observed. At the same time, quite a few users reported blisters. Users with wide feet found the shoe too narrow.

Columbia’s Newton Ridge plus 2 boots are lightweight and provide good support, protection and traction. The waterproofing works though it affects the breathability. Users with wide feet should try before buying. A good suggestion would be to wear socks covering the ankle area to avoid get blisters. At the price, they are great value for money. Recommended for light to medium hikes as heavy hikes will wear out the soles faster.

For the love of hiking, set out on the Columbia Men's Newton Ridge Plus II waterproof hiking boots. With a heel height of 1 3⁄4 inches, the boot is designed to endure wet and soggy weather. The waterproof seam-sealed construction is to keep feet dry.

The PU coated leather upper with suede and mesh ensure a comfortable hike. The TECHLITE midsole supplies cushioning and energy return. A stability shank shaft that measures approximately 5" from arch ensures control, stability and support where you need it and flexibility where you don’t while the Omni-GRIP rubber outsole lends grip.

The boot is equally light and easy to walk in, and cinches down tight so that there is no problems with hot spots or blisters.


The upper is PU coated leather, suede, mesh along with metal hardware. The Waterproof seam-sealed construction seals out wet weather and is perfect for hiking.


With the Techlite Cushioning, the midsole is lightweight for long-lasting comfort, high energy return and superior cushioning.

Outer sole

The outer sole consist of the Omni-Grip high traction, non-marking rubber compound which provides a safe step. The treads underneath are exceptional grippers on any uneven surfaces, terrain, or snowy streets.


The padded tongue is easy-going and does not burden the upper part of the foot

Lacing System

The lacing system is traditional with durable metal hardware. With D-caps lace closure, it can be firmly (or loosely) wrapped all the way up to the ankles.

Toe cap and Heel Counter

The boot has super imperative toe protection and the rear of the boot is protected with a rubber cap.

Insole/Footbed/Sock Liner

The Cushioned footbed provides supportive comfort.
