This California couple set the whole world gawking in awe with their adventure marriage ceremony. Ashley Schmeider and James Sisson felt that a regular fairy-tale wedding ceremony wasn’t their style– so they thought why not become the couple who got married on Mount Everest, literally. That’s right, on Mount Everest!
Without a doubt, their wedding album is to be a spectacular sight!
Ashley and James spent a year preparing and training for their wedding adventure on the Everest, and it was no piece of cake. When they finally arrived in Nepal, with their photographer slash magic maker, Charleton Churchill , it took them three whole weeks to reach the 17,000 ft high Mount Everest Base Camp. As if a test of marriage, they walked through deep snow, altitude sickness and freezing weather.
The journey wasn’t easy. Once at base camp, they finally said their marriage vows, in the harsh weather conditions, taking a toll on their bodies, to become the first couple who got married on Mount Everest. Churchill captured the beautiful moments of this epic adventure ceremony in a spectacular blend of the couple conquering the mighty Mount Everest together in marriage, untampered.
Here’s to the coolest wedding photos of a lifetime:
We’ll travel along
Through all kinds of weather
What if the sky should fall
Just as long as we’re together
It really doesn’t matter at all
Cuz we’re traveling along
Singing a song
Side by side.
Who says wedding ceremonies have to be a couple of ‘I dos’, pretty pink flowers, enormous wedding cakes and flowing wine? For Ashley and James, it was clear white snow, the huge Everest, some gravel and the whole wide sky!
Well, it worked out for them just fine, and if that’s too subtle, we’d say it turned out Epic! Feel like getting married on Mount Everest too? now’s the time to follow your passion and use the excuse, for adventure purposes only.
